Located in the heart of Sheffield city centre, overlooking the Town Hall and The Peace Gardens, Radisson Blu Hotel, Sheffield is a stylish addition to this thriving Yorkshire city and the latest part of the Heart of the City development being delivered by the council and development partner Queensberry.
Stepping through the sympathetically restored Victorian façade, one discovers a seamless blend of timeless Scandinavian design with natural materials and steel details, echoing the city’s industrial heritage amidst its picturesque surroundings.
With 154 contemporary rooms, a rooftop speakeasy-style Indian restaurant and bar, flexible meeting and event spaces with an outdoor terrace, a fully equipped fitness centre, and a convenient location, the new hotel is the perfect base for business or leisure travellers.
“We are thrilled to welcome guests to our stunning property where history meets hospitality. With architectural grandeur and luxurious contemporary facilities, we aim to create the perfect symphony of sophistication for a well-rounded stay.”
Valerie Donaldson
General Manager, Radisson Blu Hotel, Sheffield.
The main contractor was McLaughlin & Harvey. Also advising Sheffield City Council and Queensberry were Turner & Townsend, HLM Architects, and Counter Context.
Corporate Workspace provided furniture for the bedrooms, bars, lounges, dining spaces, outdoor terrace, banqueting and conference facilities, as well as back office areas. The broad package involved numerous upholstery suppliers and over 25 manufacturers.
“Radisson Blu is recognised across the globe for its quality and style, and perfectly reflects the ambition and impact of Heart of the City. A lot of hard work has gone into making this hotel a reality, and I’m incredibly proud of Sheffield Council, Queensberry, and the whole project team.”
